Read Romans 10:6–10
In this passage is found the most foundational lesson in the importance and power of faith’s confession. The principle is established at the very beginning of our life in Christ. Just as salvation (God’s righteous working in our behalf) is appropriated by heart belief and spoken confession, so His continuing work in our lives is advanced by the same means. Our oral confession of faith declares, confirms, and seals belief in our hearts.
Thus the parallel between “saving” faith and “power” faith is seen in its dependence upon the Word of the gospel.
Read 2 Corinthians 4:13–14
