EL Shaddai

The God Who is More Than Enough

When the Lord God appeared to Abram, He actually said in Hebrew was, " I am El Shaddai "
El Shaddai is one of the seven covenant names through which God revealed Himself to Israel.  In Hebrew,  El Shaddai means " the All-Sufficient One, " or " the God who is more than enough. "
The translators of the King James Version translated El Shaddai as "Almighty God. " If He is the All-Sufficient One, then  He is Almighty : the One who is more than enough.
Jesus said,  "Before Abraham was,I am" God had revealed Himself to Moses in the Old Testament as the God I AM. In telling the Jews , "I am that God you are looking for. " He demonstrated in zhis earthly walk He is the God who is more than enough. Amen

Blueprint for Building Strong Faith

Surrounding Yourself with that which Produces  Faith

Every born - again Christian has received "the" measure of faith  mentioned in Romans 12:3.  Not "a" measure of faith; "the" measure of faith.
What you do with your measure of faith  after salvation is up to you - but what with it determines whether or not you grow in faith. Amen

Strength in Unity

"For by one Spirit [the Holy Spirit ] are we all baptized into one body,  whether we be Jews [the religious people] or Gentiles  [the non-religious  people ], whether we be bond or free; and  have been  all made to drink into one Spirit" 1 Corinthians 12 : 13

There is a strength and a force in unity that will not be found any other place.  The unity of the body of Christ is like none other.

Once the church of Jesus Christ comes together and flows as one colossal body, the power and love of God will spread throughout the whole world.  Amen

Diversity of Gifts

Within the nine gifts of the Spirit,  there are three groups: revelation, power, and inspiration.  There are diversities of gifts, but all three groups flow from only one Source : the Holy Spirit of God.  Amen

The Believers Potential

The Example of Jesus

But we do see that Jesus did concern Himself with corporate entities as well as with personal ones. To begin, He ministered to His people group as a culture with a particular history. He wept over Israel’s sins and wounds. He identified with them. He was absolutely rooted in their story, as the elaborate genealogy introducing Him in Matthew 1 reveals. Indeed, He was totally engaged with individuals, both with their immediate personal needs and with their eternal salvation, but He also dealt in terms of corporate, national issues. The most striking example of Jesus’ dealing with a corporate entity among His people is found in Matthew 23:29–32

The Believers Potential

God's  Momentum

A reconciliation initiative is launched when people who trust each other form an alliance around a major reconciliation issue and determine to take action together. Like-minded people find each other and learn from other reconcilers in a network. Identificational repentance is proving to be the key to opening doors that have been closed for centuries. People are taking prayer journeys where historic oppression or massive killing has ruled regions and cultures—at such scenes as ancient massacres, slave trading, or war. Amen

The Believers Potential

A Model for Reconciliation

Even though the Judeo-Christian ethos present in a few national cultures gives us some basis for hope that reconciliation can occur through governmental or societal entities, reconciliation ministry is primarily the responsibility of the living church. There is, after all, no substitute for the atonement Jesus provided for sin. Just as during seasons of revival in the past, the church always placed great emphasis on open acknowledgment of sin and called for changed attitudes and just actions, so today’s believers are being called to demonstrate a model of reconciliation for the troubled world of the new century. Amen

Food for Thought

“Hard things are always opportunities to gain more glory for the Lord as He manifests His power. Every trial is a blessing. … The hardest things are just lifting places into the grace of God.”

“The Master does not want us to reason things out, for carnal reasoning will always land us in a bog of unbelief. He wants us simply to obey.”
Smith Wigglesworth...

The Believers Potential

The Wounds of the World

When we study human conflict, we see that Satan’s method of getting one group to abuse another is rooted in the hardheaded collision of self-righteous people within each group. Take some truth, polarize the people with different sides of that truth, tempt them to unrighteous judgment, and then watch them wound one another with rejection, harsh words, and injustice. The cycle seems endless, since even as two individuals can hurt each other through selfish and unjust behavior, it is equally common for wounds to be sustained by a nation or people within a nation. Animosities and bitternesses can fester unresolved for generations. Amen

“You must be yielded to the Word of God. The Word will work out love in our hearts, and when practical love is in our hearts, there is no room to boast about ourselves. We see ourselves as nothing when we get lost in this divine love.” Smith Wigglesworth

“You can never pray ‘the prayer of faith’ (James 5:15) if you look at the person who is needing it; there is only one place to look, and that is to Jesus.”

The Believers Potential

Today we live in a wounded world. The Cold War is over, the great transnational ideologies have either failed or proven to be weak. Communism has collapsed, and even the fervor of religious fanaticism has been unable to bring regions and peoples together. Into the sociopolitical vacuum have rushed older claims of nationality, language, religious schism, and tribal identities. Old hatreds are back with a vengeance; ancient fault lines that were briefly covered over once again exposed. Racial strife among the immigrants of new world cities, people group wars in the postcolonial states of Africa, and ethnoreligious convulsion in East Europe are all symptoms of the foundational conflicts that this generation receives as a legacy of the past. What an exciting time then to be a believer in Jesus, an intercessor involved in Christ’s ministry of reconciliation! We have the answer! ( 2 Cor. 5:18 ). It is only when we are reconciled to God the Father that all “otherness” of different gender, race, or culture may become an attraction rather than a source of insecurity and division. This is why Jesus gives the ministry of reconciliation to the redeemed in Christ, the living church. A pagan world will never succeed with truly healing peacemaking. There is only one Prince of Peace. Amen

The Believers Potential

Believers as Reconcilers

The ministry of reconciliation is directed in 2 Corinthians 5:18–21 ; calling each believer (a) to reach with love to all humankind and (b) to intercede for all, irrespective of their readiness to receive grace. All such outreach or intercession finds its fountainhead and authority for action in the cross of Jesus. At the cross, mercy triumphed over justice. At the cross, a mighty flood of reconciling grace was released into the Earth. At the cross, we ourselves were recipients of such mercy that it changes the way we view those who have sinned—whether against God, against themselves, or against us.

Food for thought

“Never listen to human plans. God can work mightily when you persist in believing Him in spite of discouragement from the human standpoint. … I am moved by what I believe. I know this: no man looks at the circumstances if he believes.”
Smith Wigglesworth...

Have ever heard the saying "you know your own body"?  The adversary  would want to to believe your body is sick or God can't  heal you must go through with the pain. Right! 1 Peter 2 : 24  who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. Jesus  took the punishment  on His own body, the body of a righteous "right standing" person for us to be in that same right standing. The last part of that verse says, "by whose stripes "you" were healed." Your healed, your already healed thank Him the one who bore those stripes. Amen

The Believers Potential

Humility and genuine brokenness released God’s favor, for He “resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” ( James 4:6 ). Consider how the high priest went into the Most Holy Place on the Day of Atonement, without arrogance, humbly and even at the risk of his life, genuinely identifying with the sin of the people. Of course, that model was fulfilled in the Person of Jesus, but the spirit of intercession still seeks those who will stand before God in prayer on behalf of those who either cannot, do not know how to, or will not pray for themselves. Amen

The Believers Potential

Interceding for our nation, city, people group, family, or generation also involves a deliberate choice to face the reality of sin, “undercover” sin, to identify with it in confession, and then to appropriate the delivering grace of God by faith. Satan always attempts to keep hidden the defilement of the land through historic sins. Further, the Enemy struggles to keep the church from its priestly role of asking for forgiveness and leading the way in repentance. This is why Paul exhorts, “first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men” ( 1 Tim. 2:1 ). The majority of a population may be continuing in their sin; however, a righteous remnant interceding on their behalf, can bring down mercy on the undeserving. We must never underestimate the power that is released when united believers intercede in humility. The Old Testament restoration books demonstrate how a believing remnant can set in motion the healing of even a divided, shattered, dispossessed nation. Most important was the heart attitude of these intercessors as they prayed the prayer of identification.

The Believers Potential

The essential difference between us as New Testament priests and the Old Testament priesthood is that the ancient priests looked forward by faith to the atonement Messiah would provide, while we look backward —two thousand years to the same hinge point of history. They presented the blood of animals, a physical sacrifice, in contrast to the priesthood 1 Peter describes, which offers up a spiritual sacrifice—making claim by faith on the shed blood of Jesus as the final atonement for sin. Amen

Obedience

Therefore, my beloved, u as you have always ◊ obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, v work out your own ◊ salvation with w ◊ fear and trembling; 13 for x it is God who ◊ works in you both to will and to do y for His good pleasure. Phil. 2:12-13 NKJV

In view of the obedience of Christ and His lordship, the Philippians should show a like obedience. Paul does not teach that salvation is dependent on one’s continued works, but that salvation must express itself in progressive Christian living and upright character, not only individually, but through obedient participation in God’s corporate call to a local church.

Philippians Invites

Express God’s gracious work of salvation in you through your obedience to Him. Recognize that God gives you the desire and ability to do what pleases Him.

NEW SERIES

First Peter teaches us that there is an important purpose for our unity. Believers are like living stones being built together as a spiritual house ( 1 Pet. 2:5 ). The purpose of this structure is to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to a holy creator. The writer then goes on to liken the redeemed in Christ, both Jew and non-Jew, to the Jewish priesthood. Amen

Acts Kingdom

Live as a Citizen of the Kingdom

Living in the world without partaking of the spirit of the world is the Christian’s call. When the Spirit of God reveals to us the true spiritual poverty in which the world exists, it becomes easier to overcome the lures seeking to attract us back into our sin-beset lives. When we understand the fullness of our inheritance in Christ, the world’s offers seem poor indeed. When we truly set our affection on God, the lusts of the flesh lose most of their appeal.

Expect Breakthrough

When the apostle Paul was shipped
off to Rome under guard to stand trial before Caesar, his travels and ministry had been curtailed for more than two years. An observer might have concluded that Paul should never have gone to Jerusalem and prematurely ended his life work. No observer would have foreseen how kingdom power was about to take over and thrust Paul into the final glorious stage of his witness to the Gentile world. The trip itself foreshadowed the nature of Paul’s ministry in Rome. Far too often, Christians quit when the going gets too tough. We need to develop the same tenacious faith that led Paul to become such a powerful man of God that the majority of the New Testament came through his hand. Have a great weekend

God's Will

God's Will - Bud Nunley: https://youtu.be/nxucW_p8lpc

Acts Kingdom

Overcome the World

Just before John tells his readers the means to victory in the world, he clearly states, “He who loves God must love his brother also” (1 John 4:21). He goes on to explain how faith, love, and obedience are related to each other. Faith brings us into a loving relationship with God (Ephesians 2:8), and love for Him leads to love for other Christians (1 John 4:20) and to obedience of His commandments (1 John 5:3). John goes on to say that God’s commandments are not burdensome (1 John 5:3). We are enabled by the power of the Holy Spirit to walk in the ways of God and enjoy the practical benefits of obedience to all God’s laws. They are entirely contributive to human good and fulfilling to those who learn their application to life. Amen

Determined to Grow Strong

The flesh as an enemy is a New Testament concept that focuses on the carnal, inbred tendencies of fallen humankind. These sinful inclinations are the most immediate enemy of the believer who desires to live a committed life under the control, influence, and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
The Word says the desire alone is not enough to overcome our flesh (Romans 7:21). Rather, we are called to war against the flesh—to live our lives in a tug-of-war as our flesh urges indulgence and the Holy Spirit constrains us to righteousness.

Answered Prayer

Learning how to pray effectively is one of the most important things a believer can ever do in his Christian walk. A believer’s  prayer life should be based and built upon the Word of God.

Be specific and stand on God’s promises.  Decide what you want from God and find the scriptures or scriptures that definitely promise you these things. So many times we are indefinite in our praying, praying to God specially in order to receive an answer to prayer.  Praying to have fellowship with  God,  will spill over into the realm of  praying  specifically  in order to receive an answer. Amen

Know Christ

Paul was persecuted, beaten, and jailed more than once (see a list of the trials Paul faced in 2 Corinthians 11:23–27). He endured it all and never lost one ounce of the zeal with which he began. No matter what he faced, no matter what he had to give up, he came to the liberating conclusion: all is mere garbage compared to knowing the Lord! (Philippians 3:8).

Burn with Zeal

Endurance requires single-minded focus and a total devotion. Those who are not completely devoted to the Lord and totally committed to His kingdom “on earth as it is in heaven” (Luke 11:2) will not be able to withstand the trials inherent in serving the risen Lord.

How many times have you heard someone say "I'm  called into the ministry. "  Well the truth is we all are called to ministry, we are called to  receive  power from on high
(Holy Spirit ) then go into all the world  making disciples  of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son,and the Holy Spirit. Amen
