Redeemed From the Curse of the Law

GALATIANS 3:13 13 Christ hath REDEEMED US FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.
We are redeemed from the curse of the Law. What is the curse of the Law? Go back to the Law and find out. The Law invariably refers to the first five books of the Bible, also called the Pentateuch. As you study those five books of the Law, you will find that the curse or the punishment for breaking God’s Law is threefold: It is poverty, sickness, and the second death. Amen

Faith Comes

In Whom We Have Redemption

EPHESIANS 1:7,8 7 IN WHOM [in Christ] we have REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence. I want you to notice the first part of verse 7, “In whom we have. . . .” Notice the expressions “in whom” and “we have.” Thank God, we are not trying to get redemption; we have it. We are not going to have it some time in the future; we have it now—present tense. What is it that we have now in Him or in Christ? Redemption. That means that Satan’s dominion over our lives has been broken! Satan lost his dominion over your life the moment you became a new creature. In the new birth, you received a new lord, Jesus Christ (Col. 1:13). Now Jesus Christ is to reign over your life. Satan was your lord, but now Jesus is your Lord. Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus [or Jesus as Lord] . . . thou shalt be saved.” Satan’s dominion ended and Jesus’ dominion began the moment you were born again. “In whom [Jesus Christ] we have redemption . . .” (Eph. 1:7). From what and from whom are we redeemed? Many times people say, “Thank God, I’m redeemed from sin.” That’s a part of the story, but not nearly all of it. Amen

New Creatures in Christ 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 17 Therefore if any man be IN CHRIST [there’s the expression “in Christ”], he is a NEW CREATURE: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. What a revolutionary truth this scripture is for the Church to teach, believe, and confess! We are new creatures in Christ Jesus. We are not just forgiven sinners. We are not poor, weak, staggering, sinning, “barely-getting-along” church members. That is not who we are. We are new creatures, created by God in Christ Jesus. Paul said, writing to the Church in Ephesus, that we are created by God in Christ Jesus (Eph. 2:10). Therefore, we are new creatures created in Christ Jesus with the life of God, the nature of God, and the ability of God in us. Second Corinthians 5:17

What Are We To Confess?
The major problem for us in this area is to know what we are to confess. Our confession needs to center around these principal truths:

1. What God has done for us through Christ in His plan of salvation.

2. What God has done in us by the Word and the Holy Ghost in the new birth and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.

3. Who we are to God the Father in Christ Jesus.

4. What Jesus is presently doing for us at the right hand of the Father where He ever lives to make intercession for us.

5. What God can accomplish through us, or what His Word will accomplish through us as we proclaim it.

Faith Comes

If we just live on one side of this confession subject—the negative side—and constantly confess our faults and failures, and that’s all we ever confess, then we are going to grow to be lopsided in our Christian life. This will build weakness and sin and failure-consciousness into our spirits. Actually, Christianity is called “The Great Confession.” Confessing is actually three things: 1. Confession is stating something we believe. 2. Confession is declaring something we know to be true. 3. Confession is proclaiming a truth we’ve accepted wholeheartedly. In other words, your confession is a proclamation of what you know to be true. Your confession states what you believe. Your confession declares something you know. And your confession proclaims a truth you have accepted wholeheartedly. Amen

Faith Comes

ROMANS 10:8-10
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy MOUTH, and in thy heart: that is, the word of FAITH, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt CONFESS with thy MOUTH the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE in thine HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the HEART man BELIEVETH unto righteousness; and with the mouth CONFESSION is made unto SALVATION.

Now notice in verse 8 that the word of faith must be in your mouth as well as in your heart for faith to work for you. If the Word is only in your heart, it won’t work. But when faith is in both your heart and in your mouth, thank God, your faith will work! Amen

The Faith to Receive

In the gospel of Jesus Christ, there is provision for every need—salvation, deliverance, safety, preservation, healing, and soundness. Whatever need you have, the faith to receive your answer comes from hearing the Word of God. As you determine to feed upon the Word continually, you will see your faith grow to be able to receive the wonderful promises God has provided for His children. Amen

Now Faith

Now FAITH IS THE SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

God is telling us exactly what Bible faith is.
Hebrews 11:1 says that faith is the evidence of things not seen and faith is the substance of things hoped for.
In other words, faith is substance. Moffatt’s translation of Hebrews 11:1 reads: “Now faith means that we are confident of what we hope for, convinced of what we do not see.” Another translation reads: “Faith is giving substance to things hoped for.” Amen

Doubt vs. Faith

It is unscriptural to pray to God for healing using the words, “If it be Thy will.” When you put an “if” in your prayer in praying for anything God has promised you in His Word, you are praying in doubt.
When you pray in faith, you don’t use an “if.” You will get no answer to the prayer of faith if you put “ifs” in your prayers. But when you are praying a prayer of consecration, committing your life to the plan of God, then you can use the phrase, “If it be Thy will,” because you don’t know for sure what the Lord’s will is.
“If” is the badge of doubt, and the word “if” shouldn’t be used in your prayers if you are trying to change a situation.

Healing Is a Part of the Gospel

Paul preached the gospel of salvation which includes healing. The Bible simply calls it the gospel. How do we know he did? Look at Romans 1:16. ROMANS 1:16 16 For I am not ashamed of THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST: for it is the power of God unto SALVATION to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. The footnote in the Scofield Bible says, “The Hebrew and Greek words for salvation imply the ideas of deliverance, safety, preservation, healing, and soundness.” I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ! It is the power of God unto deliverance, safety, preservation, healing, and soundness. Paul preached the full gospel, not just part of it. We also know that healing was a part of the gospel that was preached because other scriptures indicate it as well. ACTS 8:5-8 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and PREACHED CHRIST [the gospel] unto them. 6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing THE MIRACLES which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were HEALED. 8 And there was great joy in that city. Notice in verse 7 the miracles that followed the preaching of the Word—the gospel. Those healing miracles and deliverances all came about as the result of preaching Christ. The New Testament knows no Christ without Christ the Healer. Physical healing—divine healing—is a part of the gospel. If there is no gospel of healing today, then none of us has a gospel of salvation to preach either because healing is included in the atonement (Isa. 53:4,5). Amen

Faith Comes

The Bible clearly shows that faith has not been done away with. The man at Lystra had faith to be healed, and concerning the woman with the issue of blood, it was her faith that made her whole. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Notice in Mark 5:34 that Jesus didn’t say that His power or His faith had made the woman whole. Jesus said to the woman, “. . . THY FAITH hath made thee whole . . .”
(Mark 5:34). Amen

How Faith  Comes

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Notice particularly the first part of Hebrews 11:6: “But without faith it is impossible to please him. . . .”

If God demands that I have faith when it is impossible for me to have faith, then I have a right to challenge His justice.
But if He places within my hands the means whereby faith can be produced, then the responsibility rests with me whether or not I have faith. Amen
