It’s Not Just Black & White

Babel Explains Different People Groups

The Singerl twins are a vivid reminder that we are all members of one race.I was taking questions on a live Christian radio talk show and had just answered one about the origin of the supposed human races. I listened as the host patched in the next caller, who blurted out: “I’ll believe we are all one race when you can show me two black people having a white baby and two white people having a black baby.”I replied, “I can show you pictures of what are called ‘black and white twins’—one twin is very dark and the other very light.” (You can’t show pictures on radio, unfortunately, so all I could do was to describe the picture to the caller.)“There is no way those two babies had the same father,” the caller responded. “That is impossible. White people and black people do not belong to the same race.”The Singerl twins (above) are just one example where one twin is very dark and the other is very light. This is a vivid reminder that we are all one race.Such prejudice, as betrayed by this caller, still exists in certain Christian circles in America and around the world, to my amazement (and disgust). But it is not just the Christian world where people find “black” and “white” twins incredible—it is also shocking to the secular world. They are surprised because they ignore the Bible’s account that we all came from one race (begun by the first man and woman, Adam and Eve) and dispersed as a result of the Tower of Babel, which led to the formation of people groups (Asians, Caucasians, etc.). They assume, instead, that human groups are deeply divided by significant variations over tens or hundreds of thousands of years and that different people groups originated from different “ancestral apes.”

Are There Really “Black and White Twins”?

Over the last several decades, many examples of fraternal twins, where one is very dark (called “black”) and one very light (called “white”), have been documented. Fraternal twins usually occur when two different eggs are fertilized by two different sperm cells and implanted in the mother’s womb at the same time.Documented examples of fraternal twins being “black” and “white” include:The Hodgson-Horder twin girls (Born April 2005 in England)1The Biggs twin girls (Born July 2006 in Australia)2The Richardson twin boys (Born July 2006 in England)3The Grant twin girls (Born 1983 in England)4The Singerl twin girls (Born May 2006 in Australia)5In reading over the various news reports on the above sets of twins, I noticed that one reporter called such occurrences “freak,” and others quoted scientists saying that the chance of “black” and “white” twins was a million to one. Some of the parents of these sets of twins have shared that people stopped and stared when they saw the “black” and “white” children. Some pointed, and others commented that they couldn’t be from the same parents. Some even made racially prejudiced statements about one of the dark-skinned twins. Some believed the parents were lying about their being twins with the same father.ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE’S HISTORY, ONLY ONE BIOLOGICAL RACE EXISTS. THE HUMAN GENOME PROJECT CAME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION.But in reality, such sets of twins are quite easy to explain and should not invoke such responses. So how can such “black” and “white” twins—though quite rare—be explained?According to the Bible’s history, all humans are descendants of Adam and Eve—thus only one biological race exists. All humans in the world today are classified as Homo sapiens sapiens (same genus, species, and subspecies). When the Human Genome Project published a draft of their findings in 2000, the New York Times reported that “the researchers had unanimously declared there is only one race—the human race.”To form different people groups with distinguishing characteristics, one would need to split up the human population and isolate groups from each other. The Tower of Babel, as recorded in Genesis 11, provides the historical basis for the formation of such people groups. There is so much information in the human genome that zillions of combinations are possible.Yet all humans basically have the same skin color—a brown pigment called melanin. Although there are a couple of forms of melanin and other pigments and factors playing minor roles in skin color, every human basically has a brown color.Lots of brown is called black, and a little brown color is called white. In actuality, no human really is “black” and no human is “white.” There are not different colors but different shades of one basic color, brown. While many factors are involved in determining skin color and the steps are very technical, basic genetics can help us understand the most important principles.Assume dominant genes result in lots of melanin and recessive genes result in little melanin. Adam and Eve were most likely a middle brown color with both dominant and recessive genes for the pigment melanin in the skin. Children who received all the dominant genes would end up with a lot of the color and be very dark. Children who received all the recessive genes would end up with only a little color and be very light. Children with a mixture of the genes (both dominant and recessive) would be middle brown.Of course, many combinations are possible. But provided that the parents have between them mixtures of the dominant and recessive genes, children could exhibit a large range of skin shade. With fraternal twins, one twin could inherit genes for lots of melanin while the other could inherit genes for little melanin. So, it’s not just “black” and “white.” Bottom line: a person’s skin shade (what is on the outside) should in no way invoke any sort of prejudice or racist comments. What a difference we would see in our world if people reacted in accord with biblical principles, understanding all humans are equal before God, and all are sinners in need of salvation. All of us need to build our thinking on the absolute authority of the Word of God, judging all beliefs and attitudes against the clear teaching of what our Creator God teaches us.God reminded Samuel of this when He said, “For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7).

All Things Are Possible To Him Who Believes

Mark 9:21-24
24 Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?” “From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” 23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” 24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Every sermon I have ever heard preached on this passage focused on the man and the "fact" that his boy's healing was dependent on him and his faith.  While it is true that God is moved by our faith, this passage is not about our faith at all.
When Jesus says to the man, "All things are possible to THE ONE WHO believes," He is not referring to or including in the boy's healing anything of the man's faith, which he admits is shaky and imperfect.
"The One Who believes," isn't the man, who admits his doubt; it is JESUS.  In the Greek, it's clear He is referring to Himself, NOT the man and his faith.....or the lack of it.

Here's the crux of the matter:
There is absolutely no doubt that Bible is an inspired book.  However, when we read it in other than the original languages, i.e. a translation, we are seeing through the lens of a translator; a filter if you will.  Because they are human, translators have a point of view; a frame of reference which colors the text, not that it changes the meaning, you understand.  Trust me; the Holy Spirit is MOST CAPABLE of protecting the integrity of God's word, so FEAR not!
If the one translating believes that he must work to please God, that understanding or mentality will come out in his work, just as someone who understands the finished work and the fact that it's ALL about Jesus, not our works.  That will be evident as well.
This phenomenon is very clearly seen in the passage which has been both misunderstood and misused to point to man's efforts rather than to Jesus in His beauty and perfection.

You see, it's the original language that is inspired, not the language into which it is translated.  That's why it is so important to check any given passage carefully with the Greek or Hebrew AND not to depend on our own intellect for the understanding.  ASK THE AUTHOR: He loves to share and open up the word!

Don't read or speak Greek or Hebrew?  No problem.   An excellent resource is one of my favorites-Strong's Interlinear Online Bible:  VERY helpful.  You can glean what you need to know from the transliteration and research the root of any word you please.

I was prompted to look up the word for "help," in Greek.  What the man actually said," I believe" but he uses the word "pisteuó" which means,"I believe, have faith in, trust in.  'Help my "unbelief-boétheó,' which means, "come to the rescue of, come to help' my 'apistia-unbelief, unfaithfulness, distrust.'" The translator should have written, "I believe; come to the rescue of my unbelief."
That paints a bit of a different picture.  The emphasis is no longer on the man's faith, but on Jesus:  WHERE IT BELONGS.
It is not....never has been.....about us at all; IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS.
The only thing we "do" is consent to be saved, healed, delivered or whatever.

Translators also add in words in English, for example, so that the text flows a little better. Words you see in "italics" are the ones added there by them but are not part of the original text, like where the father says "Help ME OVERCOME my unbelief."  It actually says, " Help my unbelief," nothing about the man "overcoming," as if his works could accomplish anything.
They cannot.

When you really think about it, what greater miracle could you or I experience than being raised from the dead?  How much faith could Lazarus have exercised to have been brought back to life after being DEAD FOR FOUR DAYS!?
I'm guessing......ZERO.

Nothing Jesus does for us is dependent on how good or how strong our faith is.  Faith as teeny, tiny as a little bitty mustard seed is all that is necessary for The Mountain Mover, THE FAITHFUL AND TRUE ONE!
It isn't you or I who have perfect faith at all:  IT IS JESUS ALONE.

His faith is always perfect.
His faith never wavers.
We need to have faith that HIS FAITH IS PERFECT, however weak or strong our own; to see ourselves as He sees us-righteous and perfect because of His perfect work........
because ALL things are possible for Him: JESUS! Who believes.

God Has A Reason For Everything

End-time prophecies in the book of Genesis?
Genesis 5:1-3
"5 1This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. 2 He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created. 3 And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth."

So begins chapter five of the book of Genesis.  It is one "begat"{I'm already yawning} after another.
Adam begot Seth.
Seth begot Enosh.
Enosh begot Cainan.
Cainan begot Mahalalel.
Mahalalel begot Jared.
Jared begot Enoch.
Enoch begot Methuselah.
Methuselah begot Lamech.
Lamech had a son and he called his name Noah.
(Are you asleep yet?ZZZZzzzzzzz)

I used to skim...ok; let me be honest...skip over these kinds of chapters and wonder why God put them, and others like it, in the Bible.   that no detail is superfluous but this chapter sure seemed to be.
As usual, the Holy Spirit has a reason for every word in scripture.  There are hidden nuggets of truth; meanings hidden in names in the Bible.
Now that I understand a few more things, this chapter has taken on a whole new meaning and significance.  It's not just filler or to make the book thicker.
I will never see it the same way ever again.
This was such a blessing to me, I thought I'd share it with all of you.

With all this chit chat about the recently released movie, "Noah," it occurred to me that perhaps a little perspective is in order.
Though not Biblically accurate by ANY stretch of the imagination nor an accurate portrayal of our AWESOME GOD, it at least indicates curiosity about spiritual things, however skewed.  It may even inspire some to actually open the Book and read the real story.
People will do what they want anyway.  Either they will feel that their hard view of God is validated or they'll be curious enough to check the facts.  The Holy Spirit is most capable of handling those He is calling.  They may even find one of us who knows The Lord and open up an opportunity to preach the gospel to them!
Add to all that the fact that two other movies, "The Son Of God," and "God's Not Dead," have aired this year and it adds up to this: people are hungering to know God.  He is moving in these last days in a mighty way.  THAT'S MY GOD!
My humble opinion--we ain't seen nothin' yet!

Now; let's look at the above passage again, align each name with it's meaning translated from the Hebrew and see what turns up.  There's a message to us from the Holy Spirit!

Adam.............man
Seth...............appointed
Enosh.............mortal
Cainan............sorrow
Mahalalel........blessed God
Jared...............down
Enoch..............mouth
Methuselah.....his death will bring
Lamech...........despairing
Noah...............rest

"Man is appointed mortal sorrow; but the blessed God will come down teaching.  His death will bring the despairing rest."

What does this passage have to do with the end times?
I'm sure you noticed the curious meaning of Methuselah's name?
Just why do you think Enoch was so motivated to serve God with his whole heart?  Because God had spoken to him and shared with him what He planned to do, hence the name of his son.  It is obvious, from it's meaning, that when this boy died, God was going to bring down world wide judgment on mankind that had become so irreparably riddled with evil.
Everyone else who happened to know Enoch's son understood what his name meant.  You can imagine that every sneeze or hiccup, his neighbors wondered, "is this it? Is this the day God sends judgment?"
With every birthday, I can just imagine all the angels, (especially the warrior ones), asking God, "This year, God?"....and next year...."is it this year?" (Water pails in hand?).
But our God LOVES mercy, NOT judgment.  He is slow to anger.  This boy embodies that characteristic.  God drew that boy's years out on and on and on until he was the longest living man ever at 969 years old; older than even Adam, who lived to be 930.  He did not want to give that order.

But at last, He said, "Enough!"....and the day Noah and his family were shut into the ark, the day Enoch "walked into heaven," at His command, the fountains of the deep burst open, the windows of the heavens were opened and the greatest destruction of all time fell upon the earth.  Everything and everyone died except for the eight people in the safety of the ark.

Enoch, who never tasted death but was translated instantly by God and taken into heaven, is a picture of the RAPTURE GENERATION.  We are that generation, children of God!

On which "DAY" was he taken into heaven?  THE VERY DAY THE FLOOD BEGAN. The day God shut the door of the ark!
When the worst tribulation hits the earth, threatening to destroy all life except that God cuts short those days, BELIEVERS WILL NOT BE HERE.

More importantly, though, as in all of scripture, God is pointing to His Beloved Son in this account of the real-life event:  the great flood.
Who was it that took our place?
Who endured all God's fiery indignation and wrath in our stead?
Who's death brought to the despairing rest?
JESUS, that's Who!
From now on, when you see a rainbow after a storm, don't think only of no more physical" flood.  Those waters were waters of judgment.  That bow in the clouds also means no more judgment; no more CONDEMNATION..
{see Isaiah 54.}
The word in Hebrew for,"bow," is "qeset." It is the same word as used for "bow and arrow," only God's "bow," used to shoot judgment at man.  NO MORE SHOOTING ARROWS OF JUDGMENT!!!   HALLELUIA!!!

Nope...There are NO insignificant details; not one superfluous word, description, number or story in THE WHOLE BIBLE!...and now you know why the Holy Spirit put this formerly boring chapter in the Book.

Even if we don't always understand....and we don't.....God really does have a reason for EVERYTHING!

Gay Marriage Movement Gains Momentum as Federal Judge Strikes Down Another Ban
May 20, 3:00 PM
By David DeKok/Reuters
2111
A federal judge on Tuesday struck down Pennsylvania's ban on same-sex marriage, the latest in a series of court decisions across the country confirming gay couples' rights to wed.

Finding Pennsylvania's 1996 Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional, District Court Judge John Jones III wrote: "By virtue of this ruling, same-sex couples who seek to marry in Pennsylvania may do so, and already married same-sex couples will be recognized as such in the Commonwealth."

The ruling makes Pennsylvania the 19th U.S. state where gay marriage is allowed, a movement that has gained momentum since the Supreme Court ruled last June that legally married same-sex couples are eligible for federal benefits.

Most recent court rulings allowing gay marriage have included a stay pending appeal, but Jones' ruling does not.

There is, however, a mandatory three-day waiting period for all weddings in Pennsylvania.

In the ruling, the judge noted that the issue of gay marriage "is a divisive one."

"Some of our citizens are made deeply uncomfortable by the notion of same-sex marriage," he wrote. "However, that same sex marriage causes discomfort in some does not make its prohibition constitutional. Nor can past tradition trump the bedrock constitutional guarantees of due process and equal protection."

The legal challenge to Pennsylvania's Defense of Marriage Law was filed last July by several gay couples.

Challengers argued that under the ban, gay couples are denied an inheritance tax exemption for surviving spouses and survivor benefits to partners of police officers killed in the line of duty.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane announced two days after the lawsuit was filed that she would not defend the case, which led to calls for impeachment from conservative legislators, an effort that is ongoing.

Governor Tom Corbett appointed William Lamb, a Republican former prosecutor, to handle the appeal.

Jesus +

Jesus +

Are you a Jesus + Christian?  The kind of Christian that says "in order to be saved I must do this". That is Jesus +,  we spend so much time trying make we "do things or we don't do things" that we become Jesus + Christians.  A person said "I  can't write in my Bible that is a sin." So  I must not write in my Bible + Jesus and I can be saved?  Or if I don't go to the movies, play cards + Jesus I can be saved!
Heaven forbid people, beloved don't add to whst is free. Romans 10:9 says "for if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart  that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved."
We don't need Jesus + As Jesus was on the cross hanging between two thieves, on rejected Him and one excepted Him, with the confession the thief had salvation.  Jesus + no just Jesus.  Amen

The Gap Theory!

Gap creationism also known as Ruin-Restoration creationism, or The Gap Theory is a form of Old Earth creationism that posits that the six-day creation, as described in the Book of Genesis, involved a literal 24-hour days, but that there was a gap between two distinct creations in the first and second verses of Gensis.   Wikipedia...

There is another version of this particular theory:
The Gap instead of between verses 1&2 of Genesis chp.1
The Gap is between Genesis chp. 1 and chp. 2
Staying thus there were 2 creations, one in chp. 1 and then another in chp. 2
This is one several theories that attempts to fit millions of years of evolution into the Bible.  A literal rwading of the Holy Scriptures plainly gives one Creation.

Now Babies Can Decide to Abort Their Babies

A high court judge has ruled that a 13-year-old pregnant schoolgirl has the mental capacity to decide whether or not to opt for an abortion.

The girl, who can only be named as "A," went for medical tests after her grandmother noticed her growing bump.

But when a local hospital found she was pregnant, the teenager, who still lives at home with her parents, said she wanted a termination, as she didn't feel ready to start her own family.

North West local health authority bosses arranged for the schoolgirl to see a psychiatrist to assess her mental capacity to understand her options.

The psychiatrist concluded she was able to explain her wishes to terminate the pregnancy, as "she felt that she could not cope with its continuance and it would stress her to a considerable degree."

At an emergency hearing in mid-March, tests found the teenager was probably 20 weeks pregnant.

After hearing the psychiatrist's findings, the high court judge then concluded it was for the girl to "decide what she wishes to do."

In his ruling, Justice Nicholas Mostyn said, "I am completely satisfied that [she] has sufficient understanding and intelligence."

Doctors and the hospital needed the high court ruling to protect them from being sued if they carried out the abortion.

But pro-life campaigner Andy Stephenson from Abort67 is shocked by the judge's decision.

"This young girl is soon to be yet another victim of our twisted system that promotes sexual activity at an ever earlier age, followed by the tax-funded death of any resulting 'mistakes,'" he says.

"I find it utterly abhorrent that she is being deceived by those who should be protecting her and her child," he says. "It is complete nonsense that a court can rule that she is competent to make such a decision when the facts about abortion are systematically hidden from her by those who provide abortion, schools, and tragically many pro-life groups.

"This is why Abort67 uses nonconsensual means to expose the truth that abortion is not health care but an act of violence that kills an innocent and defenseless human being," Stephenson concludes.

His Branches Run Over The Wall

“Joseph is a fruitful bough, 22 A fruitful bough by a well; His branches run over the wall.....Genesis 49:22

Of all the wonderful OT types, Joseph is more like Jesus than any other. He even married a Gentile bride like Jesus, which is a picture of us, His church.

When Jacob, his father, was nearing the end of his life, he called all his sons to himself and spoke a blessing over each one. A portion of the blessing over Joseph is prophetic of a part of Jesus' life during His time on earth and a beautiful picture of how Jesus seeks us out with His unconditional love, His pure grace and His boundless mercy.

Joseph's descendants were given the territory which later came to be known as Samaria. You could say it was "Gentile central." {After all, Joseph's descendants were part Egyptian.}
Anyway, as you know, the Samaritans were despised by the Jewish people due to their "mixed blood" and questionable ancestry. This was due, in part, by intermarrying with the locals while their relatives were away during the Babylonian captivity. The Jews also were sure that these people of questionable ancestry were probably unable to interpret the scriptures correctly either.

You recall in John chapter 4 that Jesus "had to go through Samaria."
Had to? How uncharacteristically Jewish!
You see, most Jewish people, when they traveled from Jerusalem to Galilee, gave Samaria a wide berth. It was a longer trip but at least they didn't have to be soiled by contact with "them!"

Jesus, however, made it His mission to go there on purpose, stop by this specific well, the well of Sychar, and meet this specific, though unnamed, Samaritan woman. He went there looking for this particular woman, knowing she would be drawing her water at this time of the day.

The name of this well, "Sychar," is derived from the Hebrew word "shekar," which means "intoxicating drink, strong drink."
Long story short, this unnamed Gentile woman, who represents all of us, "drank deeply" and became "intoxicated" by the "strong drink," the "living water" Jesus offered her. Her thirsty soul was completely satisfied and she was forever changed!

Our precious Jesus is that "Vine" Whose "branches run over the wall." He came to seek and save not only His Jewish brethren but reach over the wall to the whole world; to all of us as well, no pun intended, LOL!

His branches ran over the wall to seek out and find you and me and to offer us the same chance to drink from His "Strong drink" of living water. We, like her, became so intoxicated with Jesus and His great love for us that we cannot help but go and share that wine with all the world; to share it with everyone and make them "drunk" on Jesus, too!

I am ETERNALLY GRATEFUL that His Branches ran over the wall and found me!

His Branches Run Over The Wall

Joseph's descendants were given the territory which later came to be known as Samaria. You could say it was "Gentile central." {After all, Joseph's descendants were part Egyptian.}

Word Wealth

Catch Up, harpadzo (har-pad-zoe)

To seize , snatch away, csttch up, take by force. The word describes the Holy Spirit's action in transferring Phillip from one place to another.  Acts 8:39
and Paul's being caught up to Paradise 2 Corinthians 12:2

It suggests the exercise of a sudden force.  I'm ready are you? Amen

The Promise of the Father

The Promise of the Father

In Acts 1:4-5 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, "which" He said "you have heard from me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now".

Jesus told His disciples to wait for the "Promise of the Father" which was the gift of the Holy Spirit they were to receive.  In addition to salvation, God wants His people to receive this flooding of their inner beings with the Spirit of God called "The baptism of the Holy Spirit". It is a complete immersion of the human personality into the Spirit of God through which Holy Spirit is allowed to come in the fullness of His power, into a persons life. Under the old covenant, only those uniquely called or annointed. of God  received the Holy Spirit.  But under the New Covenant, every believer is offered "The Promise of the Father" which is "power from on high"  the active presence of the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49). It is by this activity of the Spirit's fullness in the life of every believer that the  ministry of Christ in His church continues.  The power of God comes only by the Holy Spirit Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and Samaria, and to all the earth. " There is no other way to appropriate this power. But even after receiving it, we must remember that being filled with the Holy Spirit is a one time event.  We need to be continuing refilled with the Spirit in order to renew our lives and ministries. We also need to exercise our prayer language as a part of the Spirit's flow in our lives Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance; Acts 4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rules of the people and elders of Israel"; Acts 13:9 "Then Saul, who also [is called] Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him."

Through the Holy Spirit, we can expect our Spirit-filled relationship with Jesus to help us to speak boldly, with courage, and with spiritual understanding.  Acts 4:13 "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled, and they realized that they had been with Jesus. " As we expect that courage and spiritual understanding to come,  will be ready to share Jesus boldly, always asking the Holy Spirit to confirm our testimony.  Acts 10:44-45 "While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all of those who heard the word.

How to be filled with the Holy Spirit

A.   WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT?

1. Understanding the two definitions
There is a difference between be in born of the Spirit (the Spirit coming within our spirit) and being filled with the Holy Spirit (the Spirit coming upon our spirit).

a. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

John 3:5 (KJV)Jesus said the unless a person is born of water and Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

b. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 2:4 (KJV)

After the believers were all filled with the Holy Ghost, they began to speak in tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

c. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14:17 (KJV)
