Thank God We Are the Body of Christ!

2 CORINTHIANS 6:14–15 14
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

The believer is called “righteousness,” and the unbeliever is called “unrighteousness.” The believer is called “light,” and the unbeliever, “darkness.” The believer is called “Christ,” and the unbeliever, “Belial.”

The Source of Our Authority

The source of our authority is found in this resurrection and exalting of Christ by God. The truth of the authority of the believer, however, is overlooked by many Christians. In fact, most churches don’t even know the believer has any authority!
You never will understand the authority of the believer only with your intellect; you must get the spiritual revelation of it. You must believe it by faith. Amen

Seated With Christ

The Resurrection was opposed by Satan and all his cohorts. However, his forces were confused and defeated by our Lord Jesus Christ, who arose, ascended, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, far above them.
These are the same demonic powers we have to deal with, but, thank God, Jesus defeated them. Other translations say He “put them to nought” or “paralyzed them.”
God wants us to know what happened in the death, burial, resurrection, and seating of Jesus Christ. He wants us to know that He has set Christ “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named . . .” (Eph. 1:21). Amen

Seated With Christ

When Christ ascended, He transferred His authority to the Church. He is the Head of the Church, and believers make up the Body. Christ’s authority has to be perpetuated through His Body, which is on the earth. (Throughout Ephesians and elsewhere in the Epistles, Paul uses the human body as an illustration of the Body of Christ.) Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father—the place of authority—and we’re seated with Him. If you know anything about history, you know that to sit at the right hand of the king or pope means authority. We died with Christ, and we were raised with Him. This is not something God is going to do in the future; He already has done it! Matthew 28:18
Amen

What Is Authority?

The translators of the King James Version translated many words consistently, but not the Greek words for “power” and “authority.”
In speaking about “serpents and scorpions,” Jesus is talking about the power of the devil—demons, evil spirits, and all his cohorts. We need to realize that we’ve got authority over them!
The value of our authority rests on the power that is behind that authority. God Himself is the power behind our authority! The devil and his forces are obliged to recognize our authority! The believer who thoroughly understands that the power of God is backing him can exercise his authority and face the enemy fearlessly. Amen

Our Authority

“all spiritual blessings” as “every spiritual blessing.” This means every spiritual blessing there is. In Christ, all spiritual blessings belong to us. Authority belongs to us whether we realize it or not. But just knowing this isn’t enough. It’s knowledge acted upon that brings results! It’s a tragedy for Christians to go through life and never find out what belongs to them. Did you ever stop to think about it: Salvation belongs to the sinner. Jesus already has bought the salvation of the worst sinner, just as He did for us. That’s the reason He told us to go tell the Good News; go tell sinners they’re reconciled to God. Amen

What Authority do we have

Thank God we have authority over evil spurits. Ephesians  6:12
We need to realize that we have authority through  Christ Jesus.  Our combat with the devil always should be with the consciousness that we have authority over him because he is a defeated foe.
The authority of a believer is a aspect of the Christian life that few believer’s know much about. We receive this authority when we are born again.  As we we are made new creatures in Christ Jesus,  we inherit the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ,  and we can use it in prayer against the enemy. Amen
