Grow in Power

The early church leaders described their walk with God in terms of athletic endeveaors.  1Corinthians 9:24-27
Philippines 3:12-14
Professional athletes build muscle by thousands of repetitions appropriate to their sport.

As professional Christians we should be like the athletes always preparing for an athletic event, building spiritual muscle in prsyer, and in the Word.  Amen

Jesus is Your Lord

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  Philippines 2:9-11(NKJV)

Know the Holy Spirit

The doctrines surrounding the Holy Spirit and His activities in the church today are often a cause for division and distrust within the Body of Christ. It is imperative that we understand what Scripture has to say about the Holy Spirit and His role in the lives of believers.
The Holy Spirit operates in the church as a definite personality. A Person given as a gift to the church to assure that the continued ministry of the resurrected Christ is expressed and verified.

Anticipate Jesus's Return

Jesus was in the presence of many believers when He told them to wait in Jerusalem until they received Holy Spirit Baptism. Luke 24 : 49

He not only commissioned them as witnesses, but He promised the enabling power of the Holy Spirit to carry out their task. They were not to embark upon their mission for Christ until they received the " Promise" The Holy Spirit.

Acts Kingdom Power

Gift of Power
Acts 1:7-8

With those words, Jesus makes three points: 1> The Holy Spirit is the Person and the Power by which assistance and ability are given for serving,  for sharing the life and power of God's Kingdom with others.  2> The Holy Spirit's power must be "received"; it is not an automatic experience.  Ad surely as the Holy Spirit in dwells each beliver,  so surely He will fill and overflow each who receives the Holy Spirit in childlike faith.  3> When the Holy Spirit fills you, you will knowit. Jesus saidit, and the disciples found it true.
Read John 7:37-39 Acts 1:5; 2:1-4

Willingness

Kindness inspires you to be agreeable.  Instead of being obstinate,  reluctant, or stubborn, you cooperate, you stay flexible.

Rather than complaining or making excuses, you look for creative ways to accommodate and adjust.

Acts Kingdom Power

A Loyal Witness

Acting as a witness to an event isn't easy. It takes observation and practice in observation. As Jesus' life and words faithfully witnessed to the Father by the power of the Holy Spirit, so His disciples lives and words were to bear witness to Him by the same power of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Receive the Holy Spirit

Acts 1:8
On the day He ascended into Heaven, Jesus made a promise to the assembled believers (Christians). This Spirit Baptism is the empowering for ministry as promised in Luke 24: 49

The mission of believers (Christians) one that cannot be accomplished without the supernatural Holy Spirit Baptism.  Jesus' words about spreading witness of the gospel through the Spirit-filled disciples (Christians) could only be fulfilled with supernatural power as a result of being baptized with the Holy Spirit.  Luke 3:16

Stay Connected

When Jesus sent out a his first disciples,  He sent them in pairs.  Mark 6:7-13
He knew they would be exposed to the pressures of the world and the schemes of the enemy.

In what way can being in close relationship with another believer foster greater spiritual health and more effective ministry. Amen

Citizens of God's Kingdom

The first call of the kingdom is to repentance.  The implications of biblical repentance are 3 fold.
1) renunciation and reversal.
2) submission and teach ability.
3) continual shape ability.

There is no birth into the kingdom without hearing the call to salvation,  renouncing one's sins, and turning away from sin toward Christ the Savior. Acts 3:19

Faith

God has provided the way whereby everyone can have faith.

If God demands we have faith when it is impossible for us to have faith,  we have a right to challenge His justice.

But if He places within our hands the means whereby faith can be produced, then the responsibility rests with us whether or not we have faith.
Hebrews 11:6
