Morning Coffee

Impatience overreacts in angry, foolish, regrettable ways. But the irony of anger toward a wrong is that it spawns new wrongs on it's own. Anger almost never makes things better.

Communion is a Reception of Provision

The purpose of the blood of the New Covenant of Jesus Christ paid not only for our sins, but for the full provision for every need in our lives. Amen

Communion is a Examination of Self

Read 1 Cor. 11:28-29
Although communion is not to be a morose ritual, it is a time when we are to search our own hearts in the presence of God and ask to be cleansed from our sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. Amen

While I was walking the fence line

Promise and Power

Luke 24 : 49
Jesus said " I, send the " Promise" of My Father upon you; wait until you are endued with "Power".
Jesus instructed His disciples to wait and expect for the promise that comes with power.
Some say, "this was only for a few."
Mark records the great commission ch.16:14-18.
In this portion of scripture He includes the gifts of the Spirit as apart of the great commission as "these are the signs."
So many brothers and sisters in Christ wish to separate the great commission from the command to wait, or totally ignore this as something for another time.
The "Helper" is here for us today we need to embrace Him as the Father entended. Amen

People of Covenant

Communion is a declaration of Dependence
Read John 6:53

When we take communion,  we are declaring our total dependence upon Jesus Christ and His power.  As we surrender to His Lordship and depend upon Him for our strength, partaking of His body and blood,  the dynamism of the Holy Spirit is released in us. Amen

Love is Patient

We are born with a lifelong thrust for love. Our hearts desperately need it like our lungs need oxygen.  Love changes our motivation for living.  Amen

Communion is a declaration of Redemption

Read 1 Cor. 11:26
When we take communion we are to take it as a proclamation of redemption.  The only way God could redeem humankind was through the blood of Jesus Christ. Amen

Love is Patient

with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,
Ephesians 4:2(NKJV)

Love works. It is life's purest and most powerful motivator and for greater depth and meaning than most people realize.  It gives courage to a coward, wisdom to a fool. It always does what is best for others and can empower us to face the greatest of problems.  Amen

Give Thanks for the Blood of Christ

Give Thanks for the Blood of Christ

Read Revelation 12:10-11
Communion is a celebration of the New Covenant Christ won the Victory over Satan for us. Amen

Don't bargain with God.  Be direct.  Ask for what you need. This is not a cat - and - mouse or hide - and -seek game.  If your little boy ask for a serving of fish,  do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? If your little girl asks for a egg, do you trick her with a spider?  As bad as you are, you wouldn't think of such a thing, you're at least decent to your own children.  And don't you think the Father who conceived you in love will give the Holy Spirit when you ask Him.
The Message.

Life through the Blood

Life through the Blood

The Lord's Supper,  or Communion, is not merely a religious ritual.  It is communion in the literal sense of the Word. We experience supernatural communion with the living God because of the blood of Jesus.  Amen

Anticipate Jesus' Return

Jesus was in the presence of many believers when He told them to wait in Jerusalem until they received Holy Spirit Baptism.  Luke 24:49
Luke is also the writer of the book of Acts is telling the account of the last words of Jesus before He was taken up.
There is a teaching that "The Great Commission" is the last words of Jesus.  Although Jesus most definitely said those words sometime during the 40 days with His disciples,  the last words of Jesus are recorded also in
Acts 1:4-9
The Great Commission tells us of course to "got this is in fact our job, the last words of Jesus He says "wait".
Our charge is to "go into all nations baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. " But the empowerment (power) to do that job comes from the Holy Spirit (Helper) or the Promise of the Father.

I Bless Your Name

In prisoner's chains,  with bleeding stripes, Paul and Silas prayed that night. And in their pain they began to sing, their chains were loosed and they were free.
I Bless Your Name!
I Bless Your Name!
I give you honor,  I give You praise.  You are the Life, the Truth, the Way.
I Bless Your Name!
I Bless Your Name!
Some midnight hour if you should find,  your in a prison in your mind; Reach out in Praise,  and defy those chains, and they will fall in Jesus name!
We Bless Your Name!
We Bless Your Name!
We give you HONOR, I give You PRAISE!
You are THE LIFE, THE TRUTH, THE WAY.
We Bless Your Name!
We Bless Your Name!

Gift of Power

As Jesus taught "things pertaining to the kingdom of God" Acts 1:3

A Loyal Witness

Acting as a witness to an event isn't easy. It takes a long time to prepare a good law enforcement officer to focus on the pertinent information and ignore the unimportant at a crime scene. It takes classes on observation skills and practice sessions spent in observation.
As Jesus' life and words faithfully witnessed to the Father by the power of the Holy Spirit, so His disciples lives and words were to bear witness to Him by the same power of the Holy Spirit.  Amen

Receive of His Life

Jesus' words are to be understood spiritually.  His words point to the violent death He would suffer and the necessity of all men to receive the benefits of His death by coming to Him and believing in Him.

Receive the Holy Spirit

This experience is not to be confused with John 20:22 wherein Jesus told His disciples,  "Receive the Holy Spirit." This event took place before the Ascension and was related to the work of the Holy Spirit in spiritual rebirth as promised in John 3:3-5 Amen

Citizens of God's Kingdom

The implications of Biblical repentance are threefold.  1) renunciation,  and reversal.  2) submission, and teach ability.  3) continual shapeability.

Reflect Christ

God's Word purifies us,  it not only has the capacity of showing us what we look  like spiritually, but it also contains the power to change our very image or reflection into the image of Christ.

Kingdom Dynamics

Spiritual Warfare Faith's Warfare

Paul pleads with us to put on the whole Amory of God in order to stand against the forces of hell. To put on the armor of God is to prepare for battle.  Prayer is the battle itself,  with God's Word being Chief weapon employed against Satan during our struggle . Amen
